"Our technician Eric came on time gave a more fair price then we were previously quoted from another company and did the job quickly and thoroughly and now our door is working better then ever (even got rid of that annoying clicking noise we used to have)."

"I highly recommend Eric, we had him fix our garage door few months ago, recently we were having some issues with it. I called Eric on the weekend and he immediately answered the phone, and came within an hour to our place to fix it. I was extremely impressed about how responsive and thorough professional Eric is."

"Eric was able to help me out on a super cold Monday holiday recently. He was able to diagnose my issue and get my garage door working again. Price was fair and he was very good at providing some insight into things to keep an eye on moving forward. I'll definitely keep him on speed dial for whatever I run into next."

Quick answers before you call.

How much does garage door roller replacement cost?

Replacing a full set of garage door rollers runs $150-$300 installed, parts and labor included. Where you land in that range depends on the roller type (sealed-bearing nylon or heavy-duty steel) and how many rollers the door has: a taller or double-car door carries more sections, so more rollers. You get the exact price in writing before any work starts, and on a scheduled visit the estimate is free.

How do I know my garage door rollers are worn out?

Listen and watch the door run. Grinding, squealing or a rumble that gets louder at the curve of the track points to dry or worn bearings. A roller that wobbles on its stem, a cracked or flat-spotted wheel, or a door that shudders and jerks on its way up are the other common signs. A roller wheel sitting beside the track instead of inside it is a different, more urgent problem: stop using the door and see services/off track repair.

Nylon or steel garage door rollers: which should I choose?

Sealed-bearing nylon rollers are the quiet choice and the usual pick for a home, especially an attached garage or one with a room above it. Steel rollers are louder but stand up to heavy doors and hard daily use, which is why they remain the usual choice on commercial doors. We tell you which one fits your door and its weight, and the price in writing covers the full set either way.

Can I replace garage door rollers myself?

The bottom rollers sit in the brackets that the lift cables attach to, and those cables are under spring tension even when the door is closed. Removing a bottom bracket can let the cable go with real force, so we do not recommend a DIY roller swap. We replace the full set with the door secured and balanced, check the tracks and hinges while the rollers are out, and lubricate the bearings so the door runs quietly afterwards.
